I have worked with Adam for 7 prestigious schools, successfully got admitted into 4 of them, and decided to attend Kellogg.
Let me start with a little background. Adam was full when I contacted him to start working on my essays. So, I started with another counselor. Just 3 days before the deadline of my first school, I could get time from Adam for “second opinion” service and he pointed out major flaws with cover letter, resume, portfolio of the stories in my essays, and structure of a particular essay. His feedback was really eye-opening. I could immediately realize how a passionate and experienced counselor can make the difference. He eventually could make room to coach me on holistic application strategies for next schools.
From my experience of working with two counselors, I believe that I can firmly speak out Adam’s key strengths:
* He focused on over-all balance and diversity of the stories so that the Admission Commission can see different aspects of me.
* He is extremely fast in providing feedback. No matter how busy he is, he provided very insightful feedback within 24 hours, typically within couple of hours, and sometimes even within 10 minutes. I always wondered how he could do that.
* His efficiency is extra-ordinary. To illustrate, I could wrap up 7 schools with him in just 17 hours. From my experience of the other counselor, I can confidently say that Adam makes the best use of money of self-sponsored applicants like me.
* His brainstorming styles are very engaging. He helped me find many suitable life stories for a single essay, analyze each of them, and finally choose the most effective one.
* His interview strategies were wonderful. Just from 1.5 hour interview practice session, I mastered the art of delivering structural, to-the-point, and strategic answers for both typical and critical questions.
Finally, Adam’s personality is amazing. During the whole process, I always felt like “I *WANT* to work with him”, but not like “I *HAVE* to work with him”. The difference between these two feelings is really a key to make interesting the lonely zero-sum game of MBA application.
I strongly recommend Adam as the counselor for future applicants. Even if you have already started working with someone else, I would still insist on buying couple of hours to have firsthand experience of working with Adam. I bet you will be glad that you did so. My best wishes for Adam and the future applicants!
