Adam Markus is definitely a topnotch admission counselor in Japan’s MBA admission market. My acceptance to the Kellogg would be impossible without his rich knowledge and experience. I would recommend strongly taking his counseling to the people who are considering taking MBA exam.
Here are my reasons for recommending him:

 

1. Super Information Gathering Ability
I was a reapplicant and I took other counseling from a MBA preparation school last year for essay and interview. I think the biggest difference between Adam and the other was ability to provide information.
Adam always updates business schools’ newest information and it was just not simple information you can get from school websites. He always attends Information Session held by schools, maintains contact to his ex. clients who are now business school students and sometimes contacts admission officers directly. Therefore, he can give answers accurately to the important questions like “What each schools are emphasize on applicants? ”, “What kinds of applicants have advantages to be accepted?” (You can tell them immediately if you take a look at his Essay Analysis in his blog. I can say this is what hath Adam wrought from his hardworking efforts.
I wished many times that if I knew him earlier so I did not have to reapply.

 

2. Out-and-out Client Oriented
He thoroughly understands his clients and give best advise upon their circumstances. During counseling, as well as he asked my job and other experiences, he asked my personal value (he must know about me much better than my close friends.) After made myself “naked,” he found “a new drawer” in myself and pulled out my experience and events that can become my strength at writing essays and interviews. His points made me review myself objectively and I thus appeal myself effectively at the essay/interview.

 

3. Reasonable Payment Method
His payment method is very reasonable. Addition to that, if you can get his discounted service price such as early discount and volume discount, etc., the payment method becomes even cheaper. This is very high cost performance for his very high quality service. Actually, I went to the prep school in last year but I could not get great service like his.

 

4. Flexible
He was very flexible about places for counseling and time. As an M&A advisor, I was very busy because of my tough work. Therefore, he could come and gave me counseling at my office conference room which saved my time. It was also very helpful that I could also rescheduled easily by calling him via telephone for my unexpected work matters.
I also noticed after I was accepted, recently, there are more accepted Japanese to the top business schools who is working at very busy companies like investment banks, strategic consulting firm and so on. They all claimed the secret to admission success is efficient time control. I think for many applicants who have busy work schedule it is very difficult to make time for exam preparation. For people like them, Adam’s flexible counseling is the best solution.

 

5. Network With Other High Level Admission Consultants
He has very strong network with admission consultants (Vince and Steve) who have rich experience as much as Adam. This network was very effective when I practiced interview so I can have different interviewers. Before the practice, Adam told others some points they must check at interview practice. A seamless service like this was very useful for overcoming my weakness at interview.

 

I described many reasons why I recommend Adam. In the end, I would like to say is I cannot find nobody else but Adam who fulfills these 5 conditions. I have seen many admission consultants during my long admission exam process and I saw many like “Cheap counseling fee but bad quality of service,” “Cannot make a reservation to good and popular consultants” and so on.
