Thinking back my whole application process, the primary reason that I was able to be accepted by MIT, London Business School, UCLA Anderson, and Texas McCombs is for the encounter with Adam, a truly professional MBA admission consultant; therefore, I would like to strongly recommend him to all of you.
In MBA application process, essay and interview are core parts—i.e., even if your TOEFL and/or GMAT scores are below the averages, you can still get accepted, but without strong essay and impressive interview, your chances for admission will be extremely difficult. I believe that working with a reliable, skilled consultant is indispensable to be successful.
I decided to tackle the application process with Adam because of his 1) contractive coaching style, 2) abundant experiences, strong track record, and continuous efforts to gather the latest information related to MBA application, 3) flexibility and high ethical standards, and 4) humorous and humble character.
1) Constructive Coaching Style
Adam’s coaching style is to help applicants find their strengths and qualifications they are not aware of, and express the positive aspects in adequate, concrete words. I have met some consultants who just push their fixed opinions or past successful experiences to applicants, but Adam is totally different from these people who keep creating their artificial “clones”. Extracted from a real “you,” your stories and selling points will certainly differentiate you from other applicants because they are genuine.
Moreover, he allowed me to discuss in depth until I was convinced—in other words, until I became confident in my opinions—resulting in the qualities of my essays greatly improving and in allowing me being really confident at the interviews.
2) Experience and Networks
Adam knows very well what can be add-value for each school, and keeps doing efforts to update MBA application information by proactively attending a number of admission events. He greatly helped me customize my essay and interview contents to each school that I had applied to. For instance, his advice on my experience to perform in a Latin music band was immensely useful because it enabled me to properly market different aspects of mine to different schools.
Beyond that, he holds strong, wide networks with current students and alumni from top business schools, and gave me an access to his live “data-base”, his former clients.
3) Flexibility and High Ethical Standards
MBA applicants are always very busy, particularly year-end and New-year season is terrible, and so I strongly suggest that you carefully take into account how quick your consultant responds to your questions, and how flexible your consultant is to your meeting requests when selecting your main consultant. In this sense, Adam is also outstanding. For example, his response was always very quick, and I got his reply within a few hours in most cases, and in the following day at latest. I can still remember how quick he sent me back the reply when I sent him a burdensome question at midnight. No matter how busy he was, he never skimped his work.
4) Humorous and Humble character
Adam has a high sense of humour, and is very humble. He always cheered me up, and helped me out to overcome the rigorous application process lasting almost one year. Combined with 1), 2), and 3), his character definitely allowed me to become completely open toward him, and therefore the qualities of my essay and interview contents became better than expected.
Another thing to notice is that I actually used his “American Jokes” at the interviews and when of campus visits strategically. I think this was really useful because the ability to be able to make a person laugh in English is one of the evidence of someone’s strong English language ability. Also, admission officers may have thought, “We want this funny guy because he will contribute to creating cooperative atmosphere in the classroom!”
My one-year application process was really tough; however, I could overcome it with Adam’s help. If you still have not selected your admission consultant, 100% confidently I can recommend that you work with Adam Markus!
