Working with Adam was essential for my admission from MIT, my top choice. I cordially appreciate Adam for his every effort to support my application. For most applicants, especially those who are sponsored by their companies, MBA application is one-time-only. So, they cannot proceed by themselves, depending on their own experience. They need to work with experienced admission counselor. Adam is definitely the best choice!
I recommend Adam mainly for the following 4 reasons.
1. Rich insight into school’s admission criteria
As you can see in his blog, Adam has wide and deep insight into school’s admission criteria. If you work with him, you will benefit further from such insights. In my case, I chose schools to apply on the basis of the discussion with him. Because of my professional background as a “Quant” in a financial institution, I needed to be careful about school choice. I knew that some schools, such as Tuck and Kellogg, excessively valued, or even implicitly required, collaborative personality and experience in teamwork and leadership. It was clear that my profession, as a kind of a scientist, was not preferred by such schools. Adam recommended some schools that would fit to my background. Furthermore, Adam advised me what I should appeal in essays and interviews from the view point of what each school values in those applications. For example, in the case of MIT, before I received his advice, I appealed my strength in quantitative skills too much simply because MIT is a technology school. But, it was not the best strategy for MIT. It was clear that the quality of my essay was improved drastically as a result of his coaching.
2. Deep understanding of clients
Adam understands clients, maybe more deeply than they themselves do. Most applicants will struggle to find their UNIQUE answers to typical MBA application questions, such as “What is your contribution to the school?” and “What are your strengths and weaknesses?” because they have never considered their uniqueness in such context seriously. Furthermore, some applicants, like me, might have difficulty in finding answers to questions about their personal situations. I know company sponsored applicants had devoted much time to their professional life to achieve such an excellent performance that they got a sponsorship and, as a result of it, it seems that they have nothing appealing in their personal life. But, don’t worry about it if you work with Adam. He deeply understands you and discussion with him will certainly help you find your uniqueness for MBA application questions. I have no organizational activities in my personal life, such as NPO, clubs and volunteer activities, but my answer to the question about my personal life in MIT essays was dramatic and pretty. Furthermore, Adam suggested effective way to appeal my strength in quantitative skills, seemingly non-appealing element to MBA admissions. As a result, my contribution story accentuated my intelligence, and at the same time, it sounded fun! After his coaching, my answers were always unique and never dull.
3. Broad network among MBA community
Because of his long career as an admission counselor, Adam has a broad and strong network among alumni and current students of top schools and other experienced admission counselors. When I was planning campus visit, he introduced me his past client who was a student at the school because there was no alumnus of the school in my company and I had no other connection. Communicating with students or alumni is essential for understanding the school. So, such care helped me deepen my understanding of the school and improve the essays and the contents of the interviews. Furthermore, I benefited from Adam’s connection with other admission counselors. He arranged practice with his colleagues, who are also experienced admission counselors, for my interview. They gave me useful feedback from multiple viewpoints. At the time of interview preparation, Adam and you will be too familiar with each other. So, you might not experience such a strong pressure that you will certainly experience during the actual interview and Adam might understand your answer even though your way to describe it is not perfect. As a result of practice with his colleagues, I enriched the contents of my answer, improved the presentation performance, such as gesture and facial expressions, and well prepared for English conversation under a strong pressure.
4. Quick work
Adam always responded to me within 24 hours even in December, the busiest season for admission counselors. This policy relieved me from much stress. For most applicants, writing MBA application essay is their first experience. So, some trials and errors would be unavoidable to finish effective essays. As a result of Adam’s quick work, I finished sophisticated essays for several schools and met all deadlines in spite of my slow work. Furthermore, his quick work resulted in relatively reasonable fee level that was charged. You might think at least \20,000/hour is expensive. But, Adam usually takes less than 1 hour to review entire set of essays, i.e. around 5 essays, per school. So, in my case, I was charged less that I had initially expected.

アダムのブログを御覧になればわかると思いますが、彼はトップスクール各校の入学審査基準を熟知しています。実際にアダムにカウンセリングをお願いした場合、これらの情報に加え、各人のバックグラウンドやニーズに合わせたより詳細なアドバイスを受けることができます。私の場合、証券会社の”クオンツ”(金融工学の応用研究をする仕事)という、MBA業界ではやや異色のバックグラウンドでしたので、受験校の選択はかなり慎重に行いました。というのも、TuckやKelloggを始めとする一部のビジネススクールでは、エッセイやインタビューを通じて、チームワークやリーダーシップを強烈にアピールすることが求められ、”研究”という私の仕事では他のアプリカントに比べて明らかに不利になると考えたためです。そもそも勝負になるビジネススクールが最初から制限されていた私ですが、アダムは私のようなバックグラウンドでもフィットするスクールを選んでくれました。さらに、エッセイ執筆やインタビュー準備の段階では、各スクールがアプリカントのどのような側面を見ているのかについて、詳細なアドバイスをもらいました。例えば、私がMITのエッセイとして用意した最初のドラフトは、MITが理工系の大学であるという理由から、数理・情報工学分野に対する私の強みを過度に強調したものでしたが、アダムはMITが見ているのは別のポイントであるということを教えてくれました。アダムのアドバイスが無ければ、私のエッセイはアドミッションの心に響くものとはならなかったでしょう。

4. 仕事の速さ
アダムは、非常に仕事が速いです。カウンセラーが最も忙しくなる年末であっても、常に24時間以内のレスポンスを保証してくれました。このようなポリシーにより、私は大きなストレスを感じることなくエッセイ執筆を進めることができました。多くのアプリカントにとって、MBAのエッセイを執筆するのは初めての経験だと思いますので、なかなか筆が進まないということもあるかと思います。アダムからのレスポンスが早かったおかげで、私自身の作業が極めて遅かったにもかかわらず、すべての受験校に納得のいくクオリティのエッセイを間に合わせることができました。また、私費留学の方には特に重要だと思いますが、アダムの仕事の速さは、トータルのカウンセリングフィーを見積もる上でも一考すべきポイントです。\20,000~/時間という料金体系は、一見すると高く見えますが、私の場合、1校分のエッセイ全体(5問前後)を見てもらっても、1回のフィードバックあたりで1時間を越すことは滅多になかったため、当初の想定よりもかなりフィーが抑えられた印象があります。
